Neutrogena Deep Clean Wave vs Sephora Precision Pore Cleansing Pad

Before I start this review, I just want to thank Keymi from Polish Me Beautiful who nominated me for the Liebster award! I am so honored :) I will do a post about the reward soon.

Another reminder is please enter my Shiseido Perfert Whip Foam Cleanser giveaway! It's my all time fav cleanser so check it out HERE!

Now onto my review today. I have been using the Neutrogena Deep Clean Wave for a while until I purchased my Sephora Precision Pore Cleansing Pad. I will compare the 2 products in this review and let you know which I think is better.

Sephora Precision Pore Cleansing Pad:

What it is:
The website claims it's "A flexible silicone pad that gently massages the face and helps deliver deeply clean, radiant results." Basically it's a little silicone thingy (see pic above) that has little buds to exfoliate your skin. I use it while I am washing my face with the foam cleanser so I exfoliate while cleansing. This pad has a suck that supposedly you can attached to the wall/glass after using so it drains clean, however the suck doesn't really work and the pad falls down all the time.

What it does:
On the website it claims "This tool uses tiny bristles to invigorate the skin and effectively clean pores, helping to exfoliate and soften the skin."

How much does it cost:
I bought it in NYC for $5 USD.

Does it work?
I think it works pretty well in terms of exfoliating my skin. My skin definitely feels smooth (hence removal of dead skin) afterwards. In terms of deep clean, well I don't think it's that effectively. The blackheads are still there, some white heads are gone, but it doesn't work for the real blackheads that need deep cleaning. I think my skin does look a little bit more radiant though due to removal of dead skin.

Neutrogena Deep Clean Wave

What it is:
This is a small battery device that when you press the button, it vibrates. You also have to buy the foaming pads and attach it to the device so it foams up for deep cleansing. The good thing is you can use this in the show as this device is completely waterproof. When I use it, I turn it on so it vibrates and I massage my face in circular motion with my foam cleanser.

What it does:
On the website it claims the following:

Clinically proven superior to manual cleansing in 3 ways:
1. Tingly, cool foam penetrates deeper.
2. Gentle vibrating motion stimulates skin’s surface. The massaging action opens pores to remove more dirt, oil and make-up.
3. Softly textured pads sweep away layers of dead skin cells.

How much does it cost:
The device itself costs around $10CAD. The foaming pads costs around $8CAD per pack

Does it work?
First of all, the foaming pad doesn't really foam as you can see in the pictures below, it only gives you very very extremely minimum foam (or I should call them bubbles since they are so sparse):

I ended up using it with my normal foam cleanser as the foam is not enough. Honestly, the result of this device is very similar to the Sephora Precision Pore Cleansing Pad, but for a higher price. Again it works in removing dead skin, but not deep cleansing at all. Although the device itself isn't expensive, you have to keep buying foaming pads which adds up. Besides, for the same result, I would definitely go with the Sephora Pad.

Overall
In summary, I would definitely go for the Sephora Precision Pore Cleansing Pad over the Neutrogena Deep Clean Wave. The results are very similar but price is different. Besides if you ran out of foaming pad you can't use the Neutrogena device, whereas you can use the Sephora pad whenever you like. It's just more trouble to go to your local drug store regularly. 1. Cool post the sephora pad is a steal at $5 to exfoliate with especially when clarisonics run for $150!

  7. Found you through a BlogHop! I have the L'oreal 360 cleanser. I think the pad that it comes with may be the same as the sephora one! I will have to try it out with other cleansers :)
